Synopsis
The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry (2022) is a comedy-drama romance you can watch online on iFILM. A.J. Fikry runs a small bookshop on a tiny island, and his life keeps sinking: his wife is gone, the store is posting its worst sales ever, and someone has just stolen his most treasured item — a rare edition of Poe's poems. He's stopped expecting anything from people.
Then a mysterious package turns up on the shop floor, and Fikry is handed a chance to start the whole thing over. Kunal Nayyar plays the prickly bookseller, with Lucy Hale, Christina Hendricks, David Arquette and Scott Foley around him. Hans Canosa directed the adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin's bestselling novel, and the literary roots show in every scene — these characters talk about books the way other people talk about family.
It's a quiet, warm film with no big twists, the kind that comforts rather than rattles. Best for viewers who love small-town stories, second chances and people rescued by other people's books. Stream The Storied Life of A.J. Fikry (2022) online on iFILM.
