Synopsis
Elektra Luxx (2011) is a talky comedy-drama you can watch online on iFILM. Carla Gugino stars as a retired adult-film icon whose surprise pregnancy pushes her toward a quieter, more respectable life.
She starts teaching sex-ed classes to suburban housewives, but calm isn't in the cards. A favor for a woman from her past — seduce her cousin — drops Elektra into a string of awkward, racy mix-ups. The ensemble around her runs deep: Joseph Gordon-Levitt as an obsessive fan-blogger, plus Timothy Olyphant, Adrianne Palicki, Emmanuelle Chriqui and Malin Akerman.
Writer-director Sebastian Gutierrez picks up the thread from Women in Trouble and keeps things loose, witty and low-stakes. Gugino carries it with a dry, lived-in charm that makes the whole thing work. Good company for fans of dialogue-driven indie comedies with a sprawling cast.
