Synopsis
Chaos: The Manson Murders (2025) is Errol Morris's true-crime documentary, and you can watch it online on iFILM. The summer seven people died — among them the pregnant actress Sharon Tate — the country first learned the name Charles Manson, and never quite grasped how a cluster of young drifters came to kill on a stranger's command.
Morris builds the film around reporter Tom O'Neill, who spent two decades chasing the same case and landed on a version the textbooks left out. On screen: a CIA mind-control program, a psychiatrist cleared for classified experiments, drugs, and connections that prosecutor Vincent Bugliosi's tidy courtroom story never accounted for. The director refuses to hand over a verdict — he sets documents, archival footage and his own doubts against one another and leaves the viewer holding the awkward questions.
