Synopsis

August 1947. As India and Pakistan split into two nations, Tara Singh, a Sikh truck driver, rescues Sakina, a Muslim woman caught on the wrong side of the partition riots. They fall in love, marry, and build a family in Amritsar. Years later Sakina travels to Lahore to find her parents — and her father, a powerful Pakistani politician, decides she is never going back.
