War, Inc.

War, Inc. (2008) is a razor-sharp political satire directed by Joshua Seftel — watch it online on iFILM. John Cusack plays Brand Hauser, a hitman deployed to Turaqistan, a fictional desert nation fully privatized by the Tamerlane Corporation. His cover: produce a lavish pop-star wedding. His actual job: eliminate a business rival of the corporation's shadowy vice-presidential boss.

Cusack co-wrote and co-produced the film alongside a cast that includes Hilary Duff as the pop star, Marisa Tomei as a journalist digging for the truth, Dan Aykroyd as the ex-VP pulling strings, and Ben Kingsley as Hauser's handler. Hauser medicates his conscience with hot sauce and keeps moving — until the absurdity of the war-for-profit machine becomes impossible to ignore.
