Synopsis
Saturday the 14th (1981) is a horror-comedy spoof you can watch online on iFILM — proof that not every date on the calendar needs to be terrifying. A family settles into a creaky old mansion, and the kid digs a dusty "Book of Evil" off a shelf. He flips it open, and the monsters drawn on its pages start climbing out into the house.
Richard Benjamin and Paula Prentiss play the parents, while a pair of vampires next door scheme to grab the book for themselves. Director Howard R. Cohen aims his jokes squarely at Friday the 13th and the creature features of the era: the scares are fake, the gags are real.
Running barely over an hour, the film trades fright for the goofy charm of low-budget nonsense. It lands best with fans of throwaway retro horror and the trash comedies of the early eighties. Stream Saturday the 14th (1981) online on iFILM.
