Synopsis
"Game of Death II" (死亡塔, 1981) is a Hong Kong martial-arts thriller you can watch online on iFILM. Marketed as a follow-up to "Game of Death," it once again "brings back" Bruce Lee as Billy Lo through stitched-in archive footage. The setup: Lo's old friend, the martial-arts master Chin Ku, drops dead of a sudden illness — and at the funeral a gang swoops in by helicopter to make off with his coffin.
The real lead is Lo's younger brother. He walks away from his Buddhist teacher and follows the trail to the sinister Tower of Death, the last spot Chin Ku was seen breathing. Down in its underground halls he finds beast-skinned henchmen and a castle master whose loyalties shift scene to scene. It all builds to a string of duels against a foe nastier than anything before.
Judging it against the genuine Lee misses the point — director Ng See-Yuen delivers a standalone slab of choreographed combat, sharply staged (kicking specialist Hwang Jang-lee is among the fighters). Strictly for fans of no-nonsense old-school kung fu who show up for the brawls, not the plot. Stream "Game of Death II" (1981) on iFILM.
