Synopsis
Stream Terra Nova (2008) online on iFILM — a bleak Russian thriller directed by Aleksandr Melnik about a government that abolishes the death penalty, runs out of prison space and ships its worst convicts to an uninhabited Arctic island with a single instruction: build your own society. No guards. No rules. No safety net. The settlers attempt cooperation for about as long as it takes to realize cooperation is optional. What emerges is the island's own law — brutal and efficient: the last one standing is the only one who survives. Lavronenko and Basharov play men who start out as reluctant neighbours and end up as something much worse.
Russian genre cinema rarely commits this hard to its own premise. Terra Nova doesn't flinch, doesn't offer an easy exit, and doesn't waste its 119 minutes on second thoughts. If Lord of the Flies crossed with a prison-break thriller sounds like your kind of film, watch Terra Nova online on iFILM.
