Synopsis

Eli Bell grows up caught between worlds. As the family is pulled into the orbit of genuine crime bosses, Eli's childhood turns into a strange braid of tenderness, terror and near-fairy-tale wonder. It's a rare thing: a dark crime story told at a child's eye-level, which makes it by turns frightening and oddly enchanting. The series stays close to Dalton's semi-autobiographical book and keeps its peculiar, warm voice intact. One for viewers who like coming-of-age drama with a criminal underside.
