Synopsis
West Is West (2010) is a British comedy and the long-awaited sequel to East Is East that you can watch online on iFILM. Director Andy de Emmony picks up the Khan family in Salford, 1976.
Sajid, the youngest Khan, is fifteen and catching it from both sides: his father George (Om Puri) insists on Pakistani tradition, the schoolyard is relentless. So George does the only thing he can think of — packs Sajid off to Punjab to meet Mrs. Khan No. 1, the wife and daughters he walked out on three decades earlier. His English wife Ella (Linda Bassett) is not far behind, and she has questions.
Screenwriter Ayub Khan-Din, who wrote the original, returns and keeps the same tonal balance: the comedy is warm but the family dynamics are genuinely uncomfortable. Sajid's fish-out-of-water arc lands better than most sequel setups. Stream West Is West (2010) online on iFILM.
