About

Synopsis

Rising Phoenix (2020) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, tracing how the Paralympic Games grew from a small rehabilitation contest for wounded veterans into one of the biggest sporting events on Earth.

The film hands the story to the athletes themselves. Italian fencer Bebe Vio, American track star Tatyana McFadden, British sprinter Jonnie Peacock and others talk about injury, training and the slow shift in how the world sees disability. Prince Harry sits among the voices too. Directors Ian Bonhôte and Peter Ettedgui skip the easy inspiration angle and dig into the harder stuff — broadcast deals, funding fights, and the moment the whole movement nearly collapsed.

Released on Netflix, it leans on archival sport footage, stark portrait photography and a big score. Worth a watch if you want a documentary that quietly redraws where you think human limits sit. Stream Rising Phoenix (2020) online on iFILM.
