Synopsis
Left Behind (2014) is a sci-fi disaster thriller you can watch online on iFILM, with Nicolas Cage at the controls. Airline pilot Rayford Steele is mid-flight over the Atlantic when a chunk of his passengers simply vanish, leaving empty clothes on the seats.
The same thing hits the ground: kids, drivers, whole crowds gone in a blink. Steele has a half-empty cabin, a rising panic in the aisle, and not enough fuel to reach a safe runway. His daughter Chloe (Cassi Thomson) combs a city that has lost its people, trying to make sense of any of it. Director Vic Armstrong, a longtime stunt coordinator, keeps most of the pressure inside the cockpit.
The film adapts the first novel in Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins' best-selling Rapture series. Cage plays it quiet here, less manic than usual, so the story leans on one rattled man flying a plane rather than big effects. A decent pick if you like your catastrophes small and contained.
