Superdeep

Superdeep (Кольская сверхглубокая, 2020) is a Russian sci-fi horror you can watch online on iFILM. The year is 1984, and the Kola borehole is the deepest hole ever drilled — more than twelve kilometers straight down. From that depth comes a recording: a sound like hundreds of voices screaming at once. Soon after, the site is shut down for good.

A small research team descends underground, led by epidemiologist Anna, to learn what the borehole is really hiding and where those voices came from. Below there's no light, no signal, no easy way back to the surface. What they find at the bottom isn't a geological puzzle but a living threat unlike anything humanity has faced. Now whether it ever reaches the surface depends on a handful of people trapped in a concrete shaft.

Arseny Syukhin's directorial debut leans into claustrophobia and body horror in the vein of The Thing and Alien, only dressed in Soviet concrete and rust. Milena Radulović carries the role of Anna, a woman with no air to breathe and no option to retreat.
