Synopsis
The Speed Cubers (2020) is a short documentary worth watching online on iFILM. Forty minutes about two people who can solve a Rubik's Cube faster than you can read this sentence.
Feliks Zemdegs of Australia held world records for years and became a hero to a whole generation of speedcubers. Then came Max Park, an American teenager on the autism spectrum, who first picked up the cube to build motor skills and ended up chasing titles with it. Director Sue Kim frames the two not as rivals but as friends — the older champion openly helps the younger one overtake him. It's a quiet, generous film about friendship and about what it costs, or doesn't, to hand over first place. Stream The Speed Cubers (2020) online on iFILM.
