Synopsis
Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) is a dystopian thriller you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Paul Johansson and adapted from the opening third of Ayn Rand's 1957 novel. A near-future America is sliding into central planning, and its most capable industrialists keep vanishing without a trace.
Dagny Taggart (Taylor Schilling) fights to keep her family's railroad running as the economy buckles. Hank Rearden (Grant Bowler) has forged a metal stronger and lighter than steel, and the bureaucrats treat him like a threat for it. One question circles every conversation, half-whispered, half-accusation: who is John Galt? Nobody seems willing to answer.
This is the first chapter of a story Rand wrote as a manifesto, not a thriller, and the film leans hard into that. It works best for viewers who like a movie that argues with them — about ambition, regulation and what a person owes the world. Stream Atlas Shrugged: Part I (2011) online on iFILM.
