Synopsis
Bingo: The King of the Mornings (Bingo: O Rei das Manhãs, 2017) is a Brazilian dramedy you can watch online on iFILM. It's the 1980s, color television is booming, and morning auditorium shows are loud, messy and anything but polite. Augusto Mendes, a young actor hungry for fame, lands a part he never dreamed of: a clown.
After bouncing from porn sets to soap operas, Augusto finally hits it big as Bingo, the host clown of a wildly popular kids' program. The show shatters ratings — brash, chaotic, far from the polished norms of TV at the time. But here's the catch: under the rice powder and red nose, no one knows his real face. The fame belongs to the mask, and the man behind it slides into cocaine, scandal and the emptiness waiting backstage.
Director Daniel Rezende, the editor of City of God, brings the same sharp sense of rhythm to every scene. Vladimir Brichta leads, with Leandra Leal and Tainá Müller alongside him. The story draws on the real life of the performer who voiced a beloved Brazilian clown yet could never claim his own name. It's a film about the price of fame you're not allowed to own. Stream Bingo: The King of the Mornings (2017) online on iFILM.
