Synopsis
The Crusade (La Croisade, 2021) is a French family comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Louis Garrel also stars as Abel, a Paris father who makes an unsettling discovery: his 13-year-old son Joseph has quietly sold off the family's valuables.
The money, it turns out, is bankrolling a secret ecological scheme. Joseph and a network of kids around the globe plan to save the planet from Africa, and they mean every word of it. Abel and his wife Marianne (Laetitia Casta) swing from fury to doubt about who the real grown-ups are here. Running a tight 67 minutes and screened at Cannes 2021, the film trades spectacle for a wry, warm look at the gap between parents and the generation that inherits the climate.
