Synopsis

A mysterious epidemic has turned six million Japanese citizens into zombies. The government's response: send a squad of death-row convicts into the infected zone and see who makes it through. A young woman named Kiku is among them, but her reasons are personal. The Zombie Queen at the center of the outbreak is her mother.
Nishimura's approach is consistent: practical gore effects pushed well past the point of reason, weapons improvised from body parts, and enough absurdist black comedy that you're never quite sure whether to recoil or laugh.
