Synopsis
Three Heroes and the Shamakhan Queen (2010) is a feature-length Russian animated comedy you can watch online on iFILM. An Eastern sorceress wants her lost beauty back, and the recipe calls for the tears of a thousand women.
Her shortcut: use a bewitching gaze to make the Prince of Kiev fall for her, seize control of Rus, and break every woman's heart in the land. Standing in her way are the three bogatyrs — Alyosha Popovich, Ilya Muromets and Dobrynya Nikitich — plus the talking horse Yuliy, the dragon Gorynych and old Tikhon, the regulars from the earlier films. The heroes figure it's an easy job and a fine excuse to stretch their legs.
This is the fourth entry in Melnitsa Studio's bogatyr saga, and it runs on the same trick as the rest: grown-up wisecracks layered over a fairy tale built for kids.
