The team has to locate and pull out the daughter and young grandson of a powerful French-born ISIS emir. He sits in custody and says nothing — he'll talk only once his family is safe. So six operators end up deep in the fight for Mosul: dust, rubble, civilians caught in the crossfire, and an order that gets harder to carry out by the hour without losing men or what's left of their conscience. Nicolas Duvauchelle, Marie Dompnier and Tewfik Jallab lead a squad written as cracked, fallible people rather than a faceless machine.
