The Island (Sløborn, 2020) is a German-Danish disaster series you can watch online on iFILM. A small island in the North Sea — wind, ferries, a quiet holiday rhythm — meets a virus that arrives long before anyone is willing to take it seriously.

At first it's just "some flu" over on the mainland. Then a yacht washes ashore with two corpses aboard, while the locals keep bickering about the festival and the summer renters. Teenager Evelin, her classmates, a visiting writer and the island's doctors and officials end up trapped on a scrap of land where the sickness travels faster than the gossip. The cast includes Emily Kusche, Wotan Wilke Möhring and Alexander Scheer.

Directors Christian Alvart and Adolfo Kolmerer are less interested in the pathogen than in what fear does to people once the thin coat of civility peels away in a matter of days.
