Synopsis
Secret Passion (2024) is a Russian coming-of-age drama you can watch online on iFILM. The debut feature from director Stasya Tolstaya follows Veta, an acting student with more belief than obvious gift.
Nobody on her course pegs Veta as a star. She doesn't show much promise, yet she holds onto one stubborn goal — to be the best in her field. Her opening comes through a stage production: a course master spots her drive, and as she builds the role, an old wound resurfaces — the day her father walked out on the family. Performing becomes her way of living through that pain again. Standing between Veta and her dream are the betrayals of classmates and her own tangled feelings for the director. Mariya Yanycheva takes the lead, alongside Darya Balabanova, Anton Rogachev and Roza Khairullina.
