Synopsis
Bo Burnham: Words, Words, Words (2010) is a stand-up special you can watch online on iFILM. Burnham filmed his first hour-long set live in his hometown of Boston: one performer, a piano, a guitar and a barrage of verbal stunts.
He mixes musical numbers with haikus, mock dramatic readings and pointed jokes about religion, sex and the mechanics of comedy itself. He's nineteen here, yet the timing is already surgical — one rhyme triggers the next, absurdity slides into uncomfortable truth, and the crowd barely gets to breathe. Director Shannon Hartman keeps the camera tight on the set with no fussy cutaways.
This is early Burnham, well before the Netflix specials and his TV work, but the trademark blend of cockiness and word-nerd precision is fully formed. An hour of sharp, clever, occasionally blasphemous comedy. Stream Bo Burnham: Words, Words, Words (2010) online on iFILM.
