Synopsis
Looking for a Halloween comedy? Ernest Scared Stupid (1991) is ready to watch online on iFILM. Sweet-natured klutz Ernest P. Worrell — the town garbageman and every kid's favorite goofball — accidentally wakes an evil troll that has slept for two hundred years beneath an old oak.
The creature starts turning townsfolk into wooden dummies, and saving the place falls to Ernest, even though an ancient curse has scared him witless. Jim Varney does his one-man circus of voices, faces and pratfalls, while screen legend Eartha Kitt turns up as the mysterious Old Lady Hackett. Director John Cherry keeps it a gentle kid-sized fright: the trolls are spooky just enough to be fun, never genuinely scary.
