Synopsis
Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (1991) is an action-adventure from director Kevin Reynolds — watch online on iFILM. Kevin Costner plays Robin of Locksley, a Crusade survivor who comes home to find his father murdered and the Sheriff of Nottingham running the country like a private kingdom.
Robin escapes a Jerusalem dungeon with the help of Moorish warrior Azeem (Morgan Freeman), and the two make an uneasy partnership across an England in chaos. In Sherwood Forest they gather outlaws — Little John, Will Scarlett, Friar Tuck — and plan a strike against the sheriff's castle. Alan Rickman plays the villain with such venomous glee that he steals every scene he enters.
The film grossed over $390 million worldwide and became one of the highest-earning releases of 1991. Rickman took the BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor, and Bryan Adams's ballad "Everything I Do (I Do It for You)" sat at number one in the UK for eighteen consecutive weeks.
