Synopsis
A Troll in Central Park (1994) is Don Bluth's animated family feature, ready to watch online on iFILM. Gentle Stanley is nothing like other trolls: instead of meanness he has a magic green thumb that bursts into flowers at a touch. In the troll kingdom, that kind of sweetness is a crime.
The fearsome Queen Gnorga banishes him to a place with nothing green left to grow — the concrete sprawl of Manhattan. Even among the skyscrapers, though, Stanley finds friends in a small boy named Gus and his baby sister Rosie. Their adventure spills across the park while the wicked queen keeps scheming to drag him back and wipe out every living thing. Dom DeLuise voices Stanley, with Cloris Leachman and Jonathan Pryce rounding out the cast.
This is one of the softest, most innocent films from Bluth, the hand-drawn animation veteran behind The Land Before Time and Anastasia. Critics often knock its syrupy tone, yet that's exactly what little kids adore: a kind hero, bright blooms, and one plain message — believe in yourself. A cozy pick for family movie night with young children. Stream A Troll in Central Park (1994) online on iFILM.
