Synopsis
Territories (2010) is Olivier Abbou's grim horror-thriller, and you can watch it online on iFILM. Five friends drive back from a wedding in Canada toward the United States. Just shy of the border, two men in customs uniforms wave them down for a routine ID check. That stop is the last ordinary moment any of them will get.
The "officers" turn out to be ex-soldiers, home from Iraq and unhinged, convinced they're rooting out terrorists on American soil. Out in the woods they've built a working prison — cages, interrogation rooms, the whole apparatus — and they rehearse everything the war taught them on whoever they grab. Humiliation, torture, methodical cruelty dressed up as national security. Michael Mando and Cristina Rosato head the cast.
Abbou turns the premise into a nasty parable about post-9/11 paranoia: the monster isn't some drifter, it's authority handed too much power and no oversight. Bleak, slow-burning and realistic, it's built for viewers who want dread over jump scares. Stream Territories (2010) online on iFILM.
