About
Synopsis
Boy Interrupted (2009) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Dana Heinz Perry about her own son Evan, who at fifteen jumped from the window of his New York City bedroom on October 2, 2005. He had lived with bipolar disorder since early childhood.
Dana and her husband Hart Perry are both filmmakers. They built the film from home videos, medical records, and interviews with Evan's teachers, doctors, and friends — not a portrait of grief but a clear-eyed account of how a mental illness moves through a family across generations. The film talks openly about suicide and refuses to flinch. Stream Boy Interrupted (2009) online on iFILM.
