Synopsis
John Candy: I Like Me (2025) is a documentary you can watch online on iFILM, directed by Colin Hanks. It builds a portrait of the Canadian comedian, who died in 1994, out of home movies, photographs and archival footage that had never been screened before.
The people closest to Candy do the talking. Steve Martin, Martin Short, Eugene Levy, Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Macaulay Culkin and Catherine O'Hara show up on camera, alongside his children Jennifer and Chris; Tom Hanks produced the film. They remember more than the big-hearted goof from Planes, Trains and Automobiles and Uncle Buck — they get at the anxious, vulnerable man underneath the warmth.
