About

Synopsis

Conquest 1453 (Fetih 1453, 2012) is a Turkish historical epic you can watch online on iFILM. After his father's death, young Sultan Mehmed II — played by Ibrahim Celikkol — takes the Ottoman throne and sets his sights on a single prize: Constantinople, the last city of a dying empire.

Director Faruk Aksoy staged the 1453 siege on a scale Turkish cinema had never attempted before. Rumeli Fortress goes up across the strait, the fleet is hauled overland through the night, and cannons of unprecedented size are dragged into position. At 160 minutes, the film earns its runtime. It was the most expensive Turkish production ever made at the time, and it shows.

Think of it as Turkey's answer to Gladiator — a national epic built around spectacle, a romance subplot, and speeches before battle rather than historical accuracy. Stream Conquest 1453 online on iFILM.
