Fedosya has run a tractor brigade for years. Her husband Avdey walks out for a younger woman. Their son Filipp takes it so hard that on the day of the new wedding, he nearly drives a tractor into the car. Avdey realizes his mistake quickly and tries to come back — but Fedosya has nothing left to extend. Mordyukova plays her without a breakdown scene or a big speech. Just a woman drawing a line.
