Synopsis
Love Songs (2004) is a Russian musical comedy directed by Ivan Solovov, available to watch online on iFILM. It's a remake of Élie Chouraqui's 1984 French film of the same name, transplanted into the Moscow music industry of the early 2000s.
Two broke musician friends lurch from one odd gig to the next until they meet a charming woman who turns out to run a major record label. One of them falls hard. Suddenly both are neck-deep in the Russian entertainment machine — big money, inflated egos and backstabbing that makes the music business look like combat. Marat Basharov and Yevgeny Stychkin carry the leads; Alexei Guskov, Vera Sotnikova and Sergei Gazarov round out a game ensemble.
