Synopsis
Sex Appeal (2022) is an American teen comedy directed by Talia Osteen that you can watch online on iFILM. Mika Abdalla plays Avery, a high-achieving perfectionist who treats every problem like a science project. When her long-distance boyfriend hints he wants to take their relationship further, Avery does what she always does: builds a plan. She recruits her best friend Larson (Jake Short) to help her prepare, and immediately realizes some things don't run on data.
Paris Jackson and Margaret Cho round out the cast. The film leans into the joke that Avery is brilliant at everything except reading her own feelings — the tagline "the only science she doesn't get is chemistry" is accurate — and Short's low-key performance gives Abdalla a good scene partner to bounce off throughout.
