Synopsis

Winter 1939: Major Rosly gets shipped to the worst front of the Soviet-Finnish war. His unit punches through the Mannerheim Line. He comes back a colonel and Hero of the Soviet Union. Then the Great Patriotic War begins — his troops get encircled, thousands of men cut off behind enemy lines. Rosly gets them out. The backstabbing in his own ranks never stops. Kirill Zaytsev carries the lead with the kind of contained intensity that makes bureaucratic enemies feel as dangerous as German divisions. Yevgeny Miller and Sergei Makhovikov round out the ensemble.
