Seventeen Moments of Spring (Season 1)
«Экранизация одноименного романа Юлиана Семёнова»
Synopsis
Seventeen Moments of Spring (1973) is the legendary Soviet spy drama you can watch online on iFILM. Across twelve black-and-white episodes, Soviet intelligence officer Maxim Isaev operates deep inside Berlin under the cover of SS-Standartenführer Stierlitz. Tatyana Lioznova directed it from Yulian Semyonov's novel.
It's the spring of 1945 and the Reich is collapsing. Stierlitz is ordered to wreck a back-channel deal between the SS leadership and the Western Allies that could split the wartime alliance. Every move is a tightrope: one slip of the tongue, one document with the wrong date, and he's finished. Vyacheslav Tikhonov carries much of the role in silence — close-ups, pauses, a flicker of doubt. Around him are Leonid Bronevoy as Müller, Oleg Tabakov, Rostislav Plyatt, and Yefim Kopelyan's unmistakable narration.
The series long ago dissolved into national catchphrases and jokes, while Mikael Tariverdiev's score became a cultural touchstone of its own. Forget chases and shootouts — the tension lives in glances, in what isn't said, in outthinking the enemy two steps ahead. Made for viewers who prefer their espionage slow and cerebral.
