Synopsis
Guardians of the Formula (Čuvari formule, 2024) is a Serbian historical thriller you can watch online on iFILM. The clock starts in the autumn of 1958, with the planet split into rival blocs. At the Vinča reactor outside Belgrade, a sealed experiment goes wrong, and a team of young physicists absorbs a radiation dose that leaves them only days.
Smuggled to Paris, they land in the clinic of Dr. Georges Mathé. He despises everything tied to the atom bomb; the Yugoslav researchers, in turn, doubt this Frenchman wants to save them at all. Politics, resentment and fear wall the doctor off from his own patients. Yet only one road remains open — gambling on a procedure no surgeon had ever attempted: the first human-to-human bone marrow transplant.
Director Dragan Bjelogrlić takes one of the lead roles himself and frames this less as a science story than as a study of enemies forced to trust each other when there's nowhere left to run.
