Synopsis
Montevideo, God Bless You! (2010) is a Serbian historical drama directed by Dragan Bjelogrlić that you can watch online on iFILM. The summer of 1930: Uruguay is hosting the first FIFA World Cup, and the Kingdom of Yugoslavia is boarding a ship for a crossing that will take over a month.
A group of young players from Belgrade — different clubs, different temperaments, one ambition — need to arrive in Montevideo and perform for a world that has never seen them play. Miloš Biković and Vojin Ćetković lead the cast. Bjelogrlić is himself a celebrated actor in Serbian cinema, and that background shows: the relationships between the players are built from the inside out, not sketched over the football.
