Mort d'un berger

Mort d'un berger (2024) is a French crime TV movie you can watch online on iFILM. High in the Auvergne mountains, beside Lake Guéry, a shepherd named Patrick Dalmas is found dead, his neck torn by what looks like animal teeth. The whole village settles on one answer: wolves.

The autopsy says otherwise. Patrick didn't die from any bite but from a blow to the head — someone dressed a murder up as a predator attack. In the days before, the shepherd, soon to be married, had received a letter that shook him badly and whose contents he hid even from his fiancée. Earlier still, in Lyon, a woman named Nadine Benichou threw herself off a bridge into the Saône. Two deaths at opposite ends of the country turn out to be tied more tightly than they first appear.

Anny Duperey heads the cast, and director Christian Bonnet runs the investigation at an unhurried provincial pace, through the routines and half-truths of a tight community where everyone leaves something unsaid.
