The Flying Painter

The Flying Painter (1937) is a Georgian comedy you can watch online on iFILM. Director Leo Esakia shot it in Soviet Georgia. Two house painters, Lexo and Nodar, are working on the same building — and both fall for Nina, who lives there.

To get his rival out of the picture, Lexo nudges Nodar toward flying lessons. The plan backfires fast: Nina turns out to be the flight instructor, and Lexo has to bluff his way through as a seasoned pilot he never was. It all builds to a forced flight clinging to the wing of an old biplane and a passenger rescue.
