For decades they came to him with wishes — petty, greedy, often cruel — and not one ever asked him about the gods or why people suffer. He's done. But everything carries a price: the greedy pay for their hunger, and the shaman must pay for the right to walk away from his calling. That price is death. Merzlikin leans on ethnic mysticism and ritual dread rather than cheap jolts. Marina Fedunkiv plays sharply against type, alongside Yuri Maynagashev and Oleg Vasilkov.
