Poachers have taken Appu's dad, and the calf is far too small to win that fight alone. Along the way he picks up two unlikely allies: a loyal dog named Tiger and Neena, a runaway girl with plenty of nerve. Together they cross thick forest and deep water, and the more ground they cover, the more Appu discovers he is braver — and stranger — than he ever guessed.
