Synopsis
The Kid Who Would Be King (2019) is a family fantasy adventure you can watch online on iFILM. Director Joe Cornish reworks the Arthurian legend for modern Britain, where ordinary schoolboy Alex (Louis Ashbourne Serkis) pulls the sword Excalibur out of a slab of concrete on a building site.
From that moment his quiet life falls apart. The long-sleeping sorceress Morgana (Rebecca Ferguson) wakes and raises an army of fiery undead to take over the world. Alex gets help from a young version of the wizard Merlin, who keeps flickering back into a wonderfully odd Patrick Stewart. To stand a chance, Alex has to knight not just his best friends but the two bullies who made his life miserable.
Cornish, who made Attack the Block, builds a real adventure with real stakes and zero talking down to kids, who forge their own armor and hold the line themselves.
