The Trial by the Billage

Eleven-year-old Timur lives inside his phone — social feeds, his video blog, the next batch of likes. His dad sees a wasted childhood.

To make the lectures stop for good, Timur takes a bet: thirty days at his grandfather's place in the aul where his father grew up. The city falls away. Instead of Wi-Fi there are stony trails, livestock, an unbending daily routine and neighbors who already know everything about you. Amir Kumratov plays the stubborn city kid used to the world orbiting his screen, now forced to earn respect through actual work.
