Twelve-year-old Billy Heywood inherits the Minnesota Twins when his grandfather dies — and promptly names himself manager. A clubhouse full of grown professionals now has to take signals from a kid who still has homework due. Some bristle, some humor him, and the team lurches between embarrassing slumps and a winning streak nobody saw coming.
Luke Edwards carries the lead as Billy, backed by Timothy Busfield, Jason Robards and Dennis Farina, with real early-'90s big leaguers turning up on the diamond to keep the games honest.
