Synopsis
Stranger (Fremmed: Det første opgør, 2025) is a Danish-Norwegian historical drama you can watch online on iFILM. It carries you back six thousand years: around 4000 BC, a family of the first-ever farmers arrives on the land that will one day be Denmark.
Life here runs by other rules. The local tribe of hunter-gatherers greets the newcomers with spears, not welcome, and wipes out almost the whole family. Two survive — nineteen-year-old Aathi and her younger brother Taran. They hide in the deep forest with nothing left. Then a wild boar gores Taran, and a desperate Aathi turns for help to the very people who killed her parents. To stay alive, she has to live among her enemies, learn their tongue and their ways, and choose between revenge and a wholly foreign life. Angela Bundalovic leads, with Danica Curcic beside her.
Director Mads Hedegaard takes on rare ground — the collision of two human eras, farmer and hunter, at the very dawn of settled life in Northern Europe. A hundred and sixteen minutes of harsh, near-primal survival, the Stone Age shown without romance.
