Synopsis
Mavera: Hace Ahmed Yesevi (2021) is a Turkish historical drama you can watch online on iFILM, following the formative years of the 12th-century Sufi scholar whose poetry and teachings shaped how Turkic peoples across Central Asia understood and practiced Islam.
Hace Ahmed Yesevi studied under Yusuf Hemedani, one of the most respected Sufi masters of the medieval Islamic world. Sent to Baghdad, he enters a city where theological schools compete and political ambitions cut across spiritual ones. His task is not only to hold his own in that environment, but to find a synthesis — carrying Islamic teaching into Turkic culture without erasing what was already there. Korel Cezayirli leads the cast, directed by Doğan Ümit Karaca.
