NRSynopsis
2000 Meters to Andriivka (2025) is a war documentary you can watch online on iFILM. It was directed by Mstyslav Chernov, the journalist who won an Oscar for 20 Days in Mariupol, and this time his camera moves with an assault platoon.
The goal sounds short and turns out to be brutal: cover two kilometers of forest under fire and push the enemy out of the village of Andriivka. Chernov keeps narration to a minimum. He records instead — the radio chatter, the waiting, the seconds between one sprint and the next. You watch the war from trench level, not from a map.
The film premiered at Sundance and took the directing award in the documentary competition. It is hard, unvarnished footage, closer to frontline reporting than to a scripted feature, and it suits viewers who want the conflict shown plainly.
