Synopsis
State Protection (2010) is a Russian crime detective series you can watch online on iFILM. Lieutenant Colonel Medvedev is counting down his final days on the police force, already done with the badge. Then, right before he's due to leave, General Kireev calls him in with an offer that's hard to turn down: take charge of a brand-new experimental unit.
The unit's job sounds simple and grinds you down in practice — keeping alive the witnesses who agreed to testify in high-profile criminal cases and are now being hunted for it. Medvedev doesn't say yes straight away. He has one condition: a free hand and the right to pick his own people. Once Kireev gives his word, he's in. Alexei Rozin plays a man who works by conscience rather than by the rulebook. A solid procedural for viewers who like it when the law and reality refuse to line up.
