Omnivore (2024) is a documentary food series you can watch online on iFILM, hosted by René Redzepi, the chef behind Copenhagen's Noma. Each episode chases a single ingredient across the globe and asks what it really cost to put it on a plate.
Salt, rice, chili, tuna, coffee, pork — the everyday stuff we barely notice. The camera moves from salt terraces high in the Peruvian Andes to coffee forests in Rwanda, tracing how one ingredient fed empires, shaped rituals and reordered whole cultures. Redzepi listens to farmers and fishermen with the same care he gives to cooks; here food is a way into memory, migration and climate.
The series gathers a roster of directors led by Isabel Coixet, with Redzepi producing. Expect slow, gorgeous photography and an honest eye that skips the gloss of typical cooking shows. It's for people who love nature and culture documentaries more than recipes. Stream Omnivore online on iFILM.
