Synopsis
The Lesson (2022) is an Israeli drama series you can watch online on iFILM, set almost entirely within one high school in the small city of Kfar Sava. In a 12th-grade Citizenship class, student Lianne and her teacher Amir get into a heated political confrontation — and what starts as a classroom debate refuses to stay there.
Both have firm convictions about justice; neither is built to back down. The dispute pulls in parents, school administrators, and the wider community, each with their own stake in who wins the argument. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict sits at the core of the disagreement, handled without clean resolution or easy heroes. Maya Landsmann and Doron Ben-David play their characters with enough internal logic that the audience can genuinely side with either — and change their mind by the next episode.
